February 19 Back in Montreal...We are already back in Montreal... a month passes so fast! We really enjoyed our trip to Vancouver and our project aswell. It was an incredible experience and we've learned so much by doing this. People at VANOC helped us so much with our video and we are very thankful for that. We still have work to do. We have to finish the editing of our video and present our project to some elementary schools. We will also put our last pictures on our website later on. We will continue to post some messages on our website if we have some news about our project! Byebye
Andrée-Anne, Catherine, Camille and Julien -xox- February 14 Whistler again!Hi! Yesterday, Camille and Catherine went to Whistler to interview the snowboarder Daniel Raymond and Tina Symko for the sustainability part. Julien and Andrée-Anne stayed in Langley and did some editing. The video is almost done! We will present it for the first time tomorrow at VANOC. Happy Valentine's Day! Andrée-Anne, Camille, Catherine and Julien February 13 2 years Countdown show!Hello everybody
Yesterday, we assisted to a CTV broadcast about the 2 years Countdown of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. After, we had the great opportunity to interview Suzie McNeil, who wrote the song 'Believe' which supports our Canadian athletes (the video of this song is linked on our website). Then, we got to interview Jorane who is also a part of the 2 years Countdown. Both artists were very nice to us and we had a great time interviewing them! In the evening, we were volunteers for this Countdown show at BC Orpheum! It was an interesting experience, and after we finished our volunteering, we got to see a part of the show! It's was an incredible show! There was Suzie McNeil, Jorane, Ron Sexsmith, Leela Gilday, the Vancouver Symphonic Orchestra and... Feist! Right now, we are very busy editing the video... So I guess we have to go!

February 09 Cypress MountainHello!
Yesterday, we had the great opportunity to interview an artist who does visual arts, Kutlug Ataman. It was a great experience and was very interesting. Later on that day, we attended to a show called Time Flies at Iron Works Studio. It was a music show where the musicians did improvisation. It was different from everything we've seen before and it was very nice! Today, we went to Cypress Mountain, one of the Olympic and Paralympic venues, for the Muggles World Championship. Unfortunately, the event was canceled because of excessive fog in the moutain, but we could still see the Winter Song Festival with Suzie McNeil, Mother Mother, Ashdown and Hey Ocean!. We also interviewed Jean-Luc Brassard (World Cup and Olympic champion) and Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau (World Cup champion, 2007). We have the feeling that this week, we won't have much sleep because of a very busy schedule... We'll keep you in touch about our project!
Andrée-Anne, Catherine, Camille and Julien -xox- February 07 WhistlerWe just got back from Whistler. What a beautiful place! Our hotel was in the town of Squamish, which is about 25 minutes od ride from Whistler. On Tuesday, we had a guided tour with VANOC members. We had the opportunity to visit the Whistler Sliding Centre (bobsleigh, luge & skeleton) on Blackcomb Mountain, Whistler Creekside (alpine skiing, Olympic & Paralympic) on Whistler Mountain and Whistler Olympic Park (Olympic and Paralympic biathlon, Olympic and Paralympic cross country skiing, ski jumping & nordic combined) in Callaghan Valley. We also had a quick look of the future Whistler Olympic and Paralympic Village site. Wednesday was our last day up there and we took some time to have fun... we went in Blackcomb Tube Park! We'll give you news about our project soon!
Andrée-Anne, Camille, Catherine and Julien -xox- February 01 Working hardHey! Today we had a pretty busy day. First of all, in the morning we met the DefiMonde's principal, Mr. Twigg, because he was in the area for a few days. After, we had a room reserved for us in VANOC so we can work on our project. We did a few phone calls to some sports federations to try to get some interviews with athletes. We also edited footage that we took last week and organized some of our activities for the Cultural Olympiads. This weekend we'll see a play called My Dad, My Dog for the Cultural Olympiads and we will also visit the area. We will give you more information about our project soon! Andrée-Anne, Catherine, Camille and Julien -xox- January 31 Cultural OlympiadsHi everyone!
This week, we worked a lot to get some interesting footage on the Cultural Olympiads. Yesterday, we had a meeting with a few members of VANOC to know more about what we could do on these Cultural Olympiads. These Olympiads are a part of the three pillars of VANOC. It's a way to share culture with the population by music shows, theatre, visual arts, dance,...The 2 years countdown is also a part of this event and at this show we will be part of the volunteers. Also, another member of VANOC in communications, Stéphane Delisle, told us how to approach an athlete that we want to interview. This was a very important part of our training because we will need to get in touch with athletes by ourselves. Don't hesitate to write to us!

Paint on walls, Downtown Vancouver January 29 Torch Relay announcementToday, we attended to an announcement for VANOC members about the Torch Relay. The Torch will be lit at Olympia, Greece, in October 2009. This Torch Relay will involve 12 000 torchbearers running turn to turn on an approximately 100 days journey and over than 35 000 kilometers. The VANOC wanted to make sure that the whole canadian population will be reached so the Torch relay will pass through all Canada's provinces and territories. This relay is the moment when the population can really be involved in the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games for the first time. The Olympic Cauldron will be lit on February 12, 2010 in BC Place, Vancouver. The Vancouver Paralympic Winter Games will officialy start on March 12, 2010 when the Olympic Cauldron will be lit at BC Place. This Relay will also reach every province or territory over a 10-day period. We will come soon with more information!

Logo of the Vancouver 2010 Torch Relay January 26 News from VancouverHello there,
Our video script is almost completed. It is based on the three pillars of the VANOC: sport, culture and sustainability. With two members of the VANOC, Christina and Amy, we visited a few Olympic and Paralympic venues like Richmond Oval, UBC Winter Sports Centre, Hillcrest/Nat Bailey Stadium Park and Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Village. We also have some great footage of the city in general and of the view from Grouse Mountain which is one of the closest ski station from downtown.

January 22 Work and visitWe started our second day at 9 o'clock this morning. It's pretty early, especially when you have to take the bus at 7 a.m! We had some more training in the morning. We had information about interviews, producing a video, ... After lunch, we went downtown Vancouver to visit the area by ourselves. We had a good photoshoot and a lot of fun! What a beautiful city and an amazing view with the mountains on a side and the water on the other one. We had a litlle homework tonight: we have to practice interviews by filming each other. I thought we wouldn't have homework for a while, but it's all good ;)
